Another earthquake strikes near Gegharkunik Province![]() May 2, 2025 - 11:10 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A 2.0 magnitude earthquake was recorded on May 2 near Gavar, Gegharkunik Province of Armenia, with tremors felt in nearby villages for the second consecutive day. On May 2 at 09:12 a.m., the seismological network of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Territorial Seismic Protection Service recorded a 2.0 magnitude earthquake 12 kilometers south of Gavar, at a depth of 10 kilometers. The epicenter experienced tremors of magnitude 2 to 3. As a result of the quake, light shaking was felt in the villages of Yeranoss and Sarukhan in the Gegharkunik Province, reaching a magnitude of 2.
