Civil Contract to attend all key Gyumri council meetings![]() May 2, 2025 - 18:32 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Sarik Minasyan, head of the Civil Contract faction in the Gyumri City Council, stated that they will participate in all council meetings that hold importance for the city's interests. Speaking to journalists, he said that the Civil Contract party will ensure its presence at these sessions. “We are not turning away from the people of Gyumri,” Minasyan said, according to Pastinfo. “We will attend every session that is crucial for the development of our city. We will present our programs. With 14 members, we have the ability to initiate extraordinary sessions and put forth our own agenda,” he stated. Minasyan added that every point from their electoral platform will be brought before the council and they will monitor their implementation. “This program is about Gyumri and for Gyumri residents. We are not distancing ourselves from them; we serve our city and its people,” he said. During the May 2 session of the Gyumri City Council, Avetis Arakelyan was elected First Deputy Mayor. The proposal was approved during the council meeting. The position of Second Deputy Mayor was assigned to Gagik Manukyan, who had previously served as deputy mayor during Vardan Ghukasyan's tenure. Manukyan is also a former member of parliament and currently serves as the secretary of the Gyumri city committee of the Communist Party of Armenia. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
