265 Turkish citizens apply for Armenian citizenship in 2024

PanARMENIAN.Net - A total of 265 citizens of Turkey applied for Armenian citizenship in 2024, with 118 of them granted citizenship, according to data from Armenia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Migration and Citizenship Service. Of the approved applicants, 57 are men and 61 are women.

In total, 21,476 applications for Armenian citizenship were submitted last year. Additionally, 4,202 individuals applied to renounce their Armenian citizenship, reports http://Factor.am .

Among those seeking Armenian citizenship, Russian nationals comprised the largest group with 9,825 applicants, followed by Georgia (1,937), Syria (884), Lebanon (539), Iran (523), Ukraine (453), the U.S. (144), Turkmenistan (132), and Belarus (96). Another 6,678 applicants came from various other countries.

The Migration and Citizenship Service did not specify how many of these applicants were of Armenian descent.
