Aleksanyan: opposition accepts real Armenia agenda![]() May 12, 2025 - 16:10 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Vahagn Aleksanyan, a member of the Civil Contract faction, stated during a National Assembly debate on the Prosecutor General’s report that the ideology of "Real Armenia" has achieved a total victory in the country, as the parliamentary opposition no longer brings up topics like Nagorno-Karabakh or Kars. "I warmly welcome that the opposition in Parliament has fully and completely embraced the ideology of the Republic of Armenia. Perfectly so! Our opposition no longer speaks about Nagorno-Karabakh, no longer speaks about Kars, or other issues beyond Armenia. They are focused solely on internal matters. So, the ideology of Real Armenia has achieved total victory in a matter of months. Our opposition is living proof of that victory," Alexanyan stated, as reported by 1lurer.am . The MP recalled that he had previously urged the opposition to return to the domestic political arena and concentrate on issues within the Republic of Armenia. "I welcome that you’ve started doing that, that you finally no longer speak about Artsakh and other such topics. You've set aside your previous political priorities and now speak about Real Armenia’s problems — but please, do it properly," he added. Earlier, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, outlining the tenets of the "Real Armenia" ideology, highlighted the importance of adopting a new Constitution. He emphasized that a nationwide referendum is crucial, as past referendums suffer from a serious legitimacy deficit in public perception. Pashinyan stated that the new Constitution aims to move away from the "stateless nation’s residual behavior" and to foster a "state-building civic behavior," grounded in constitutional harmony and democratic participation. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
