Armenia inflation to stay near 3%, EDB says

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) forecasts that Armenia's consumer price inflation will remain around 3%. This projection was included in the bank’s latest weekly macroeconomic review.

It was noted that following a 3.3% annual inflation rate recorded in March, the figure eased slightly to 3.2% in April. This slowdown in the pace of price increases is attributed to developments in several sectors: food prices grew 5.2% in April compared to 5.4% in March, services rose 2.7% in April versus 2.9% in March, and non-food goods continued to show a 0.5% year-on-year decline, unchanged from March.

“We expect consumer price growth to remain within the target range (3% ±1%),” the bank stated.

The Eurasian Development Bank is an international financial institution that implements investment projects in the Eurasian region. Its members include Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan, with Uzbekistan being the most recent to join.
