High-tech initiatives presented to EU ambassador in Yerevan![]() May 13, 2025 - 12:01 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On May 12, Armenia’s Minister of High-Tech Industry, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, and the Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Vassilis Maragos, visited Engineering City (EC) in Yerevan. Accompanied by Aram Salatyan, Chair of the Engineering Association Board, and Bagrat Yengibaryan, Director of the Enterprise Incubator Foundation, the delegation toured the facility. Ambassador Maragos was briefed on the main operational areas of Engineering City, its ongoing projects and initiatives, and its long-term vision. He explored the existing infrastructure, plans for a High-Tech Accelerator and National Supercomputing Center, and met with companies currently operating on-site, learning about their work and products. He also shared his impressions following the visit. Discussions included potential new areas of cooperation, and parties reached preliminary agreements for future actions. Engineering City operates under a public-private partnership model, implemented by the Enterprise Incubator Foundation with strong support from the Armenian government—particularly the Ministry of High-Tech Industry—and the participation of the Engineering Association and several private firms. Currently, it hosts 30 engineering and high-tech companies employing around 350 people, the majority of whom are experienced engineers. ![]() ![]() Yerevan will host the 2024 edition of the World Congress On Information Technology (WCIT).
