Deputy PM discusses Crossroads of Peace project with EU delegation

PanARMENIAN.Net - RA Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan hosted a delegation led by Gert Jan Koopman, Director-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations at the European Commission.

The discussions focused on regional unblocking efforts and increasing interconnectivity, specifically regarding the Armenian government’s Crossroads of Peace initiative.

Both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing economic, transport, energy, and digital connectivity between the European Union, the South Caucasus, and Asian regions.

The parties also reviewed upcoming initiatives planned for 2025–2027 under the Resilience and Growth Plan announced in Brussels in 2024.

The Armenian government’s Crossroads of Peace project centers on restoring, constructing, and operating communication routes—roads, railways, pipelines, cables, and power lines—between Armenia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Iran. All infrastructure will operate under the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the countries through which they pass.
