Justice minister supports certified prison officers

PanARMENIAN.Net - Justice Minister Srbuhi Galyan, who attended the certification process for correctional officers, declared that only one group deserves privileged status within the penitentiary system: the correctional officers themselves.

She emphasized that the government prioritizes improving the financial well-being of officers who demonstrate high levels of professional preparedness. According to the minister, passing certification not only paves the way for higher salaries but also brings increased responsibilities.

“If you choose to undergo certification, you’re essentially taking on a greater workload. Successfully passing the certification means you are now higher-caliber officers, and unlike others, you have advantages and a stronger sense of responsibility,” she said.

The minister highlighted that the foundation of a strong correctional service lies in unity and the development of professional skills.

Before reaching the testing phase of the certification, officers had successfully passed the physical fitness exam.
