Israeli host insults Armenians during Eurovision broadcast

PanARMENIAN.Net - During the live broadcast of Eurovision 2025, a commentator from Israel's public broadcaster Kan 11 made a controversial remark following Armenia's performance by Parg.

The host stated, "I can't believe we gave these guys a quarter in Jerusalem," referencing the Armenian Quarter of the Old City. This comment was reported by the Save the ArQ movement on their official X account.

The Armenian community in Jerusalem expressed deep offense, labeling the statement as racist, unfounded, and offensive. They emphasized that the Armenian Quarter, one of the four historic quarters of Jerusalem's Old City, has been established, maintained, and cultivated by the Armenian people for over 1,600 years, symbolizing peaceful coexistence among diverse communities.

Save the ArQ has called on Kan 11 to issue a public retraction and an official apology to the Armenian community in Jerusalem, asserting that such remarks undermine historical truth and the dignity of the Armenian nation.
