NSC Secretary: no project called ‘Zangezur corridor’ exists![]() May 19, 2025 - 11:53 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - During an official visit to Iran, Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan stated that there is no such project named as "Zangezur Corridor," and Armenia does not use this term in its discourse. "Frankly speaking, there is absolutely no discussion about any corridor. We don’t even use that term," he said, as cited by Factor.am with reference to IRNA. Grigoryan emphasized that Armenia's focus is on how to overcome regional deadlocks, bring peace and stability to the region, and enable development. "In particular, the Crossroads of Peace project that we proposed aims to unblock current deadlocks and strengthen economic infrastructure in order to deepen regional connectivity and interdependence. We believe this will be highly beneficial and promote investments for regional stability. Therefore, once the final document outlining economic opportunities is ready, we can begin broader discussions on peacebuilding," he added. The Armenian government has introduced the Crossroads of Peace project focused on enhancing connectivity between Armenia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Iran via road, rail, pipelines, cables, and power lines. All infrastructure will operate under the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the countries they pass through. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
