Yerevan, Abu Dhabi address peace deal, joint projects![]() May 21, 2025 - 11:25 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan held a phone conversation with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates, according to Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The two ministers discussed efforts to deepen political dialogue and broaden bilateral partnership. Mirzoyan emphasized that Armenia and the UAE have considerable potential for cooperation and outlined Armenia’s strategic proposals aimed at realizing this potential. Upcoming initiatives and programs were also on the agenda. They also addressed the ongoing normalization process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. In this context, Mirzoyan presented recent developments and highlighted the need to finalize a peace treaty as a key step toward regional stability. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has repeatedly stated that a draft peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan has already been agreed upon and awaits final signing. He has urged Azerbaijan’s president to begin consultations on formalizing the document. On March 13, Armenia’s Foreign Ministry confirmed that it had accepted Azerbaijan’s proposals on two previously unsettled articles and that the agreement is ready for signing. However, Baku has since introduced new preconditions and said it's too early to discuss a date. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
