Yerevan, Baku exchange proposals on border delimitation![]() May 24, 2025 - 11:53 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia and Azerbaijan continue to exchange views and proposals regarding the organization of the next stages of border delimitation. This was confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reports RFE/RL. Nearly three weeks ago, the media had submitted an inquiry to the Prime Minister’s Office to clarify whether Baku had responded to the Armenian proposals. However, the Ministry’s latest reply does not clarify whether a response from Azerbaijan has been received. On April 16, the Prime Minister told the National Assembly that Armenia had sent proposals to Azerbaijan concerning the continuation of the delimitation process. The media also sought clarification on the current issues under negotiation between Armenia and Azerbaijan, especially given that the agreement text has been finalized but not yet signed. In response, the Foreign Ministry again offered a vague reply: “We reaffirm that the agreement text is finalized, and Armenia is ready to sign it.” Meanwhile, Azerbaijan continues to demand that the signing of the peace treaty be preceded by amendments to Armenia’s Constitution and the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group. When asked whether Yerevan is ready to proceed with the peace agreement under such conditions, the Foreign Ministry stated: “Armenia’s position is well known—if the conflict is institutionally resolved, there is no need for institutions dealing with it.” Currently, Yerevan is proposing to simultaneously sign the peace agreement and a joint statement on dissolving the OSCE Minsk Group. However, Azerbaijan has not responded positively. Moreover, the President of Azerbaijan recently stated: “The events and developments of recent years show that sooner or later, they will be forced to accept our proposal.” ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. ![]() ![]() Partner news | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
