Artsakh President questioned in military negligence probe

PanARMENIAN.Net - Artsakh President Samvel Shahramanyan has been questioned within the framework of a criminal investigation conducted by the Investigative Committee of Armenia, according to the Committee's spokesperson, Kima Avdalyan, cited by Factor.am .

However, according to media reports, the questioning took place several days prior to May 30, contrary to some initial accounts. Shahramanyan's lawyer, Roman Yeritsyan, confirmed only that his client was questioned as a witness and declined to provide further details.

Factor TV reports that Shahramanyan has not been assigned the procedural status of a defendant. He was questioned as a witness in a case concerning the alleged surrender of military equipment to the enemy and military negligence during wartime.

Armlur.am had previously reported that Shahramanyan had been summoned for questioning 5–6 times by the Military Investigative Department of Armenia’s Investigative Committee, and that detention was not ruled out.
