Inter considers squad overhaul after Champions League final loss

PanARMENIAN.Net - Inter Milan's veteran players, including Henrikh Mkhitaryan, may depart as the club contemplates rejuvenating its squad following a heavy Champions League final defeat.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter Milan is evaluating the possibility of parting ways with several seasoned players, such as Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Francesco Acerbi, Yann Sommer, and Matteo Darmian. This consideration comes after the team's 5-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final on May 31. The age disparity was notable, with Inter's starting lineup averaging 30 years compared to PSG's 25.

Despite their age, these veterans played pivotal roles in Inter's journey to the final. Mkhitaryan, for instance, was among the top contributors in creating goal-scoring opportunities during the tournament.

Nonetheless, the club's management appears inclined toward a youth-oriented strategy, potentially leading to significant changes in the squad's composition ahead of the next season.
