  West Nile fever case confirmed in Armenia June 4, 2025 - 11:24 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - One lab-confirmed case of West Nile fever in Armenia on June 3. West Nile fever is a vector-borne viral disease, primarily transmitted through mosquito bites. The infection is not transmitted from person to person. The disease shows a clear seasonal pattern, typically occurring from June to October, when mosquito breeding and spread conditions are most favorable. Approximately 80% of infected individuals do not develop any symptoms. Clinical symptoms may include headache, muscle pain, rash, joint pain, and dizziness. In severe cases, it may lead to meningitis, encephalitis, or signs of central or peripheral nervous system involvement. Experts from the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention continue entomological surveillance among mosquito populations.
