Ex-MP: March 1 organizers planned Pashinyan's rise since 2008

PanARMENIAN.Net - Former National Assembly member Mihran Hakobyan wrote on his Facebook page that the organizers and beneficiaries of the March 1 events had already brought Nikol Pashinyan to the forefront on March 1, intending to install him in power to carry out the actions he later implemented after 2018.

According to Hakobyan, "one day it will be revealed why what failed in 2008 succeeded in 2018."

He stated that the foundations of Armenia's Third Republic were undermined after the 1994 ceasefire. Hakobyan claimed that informed circles and researchers are aware that the technologies of "color revolutions" were first tested in Armenia during the 1996 presidential election.

"The issue wasn't President Ter-Petrosyan's removal; it was the testing of technologies that were later successfully applied in Serbia, Georgia, Ukraine, North African, and Middle Eastern countries, and eventually in Armenia in 2018. It's no coincidence that during the famous Arshaluys gathering, Vanó was cursing Clinton," he wrote.

Hakobyan asserted that since the 1990s, under the guise of "civil society," "human rights defenders," and "free media," an agent network was established and developed, which struck the Armenian state with full force in 2018, leading to its destruction, accompanied by the Armenian people's enthusiastic applause.

He argued that if not for Serzh Sargsyan's political capabilities and negotiation skills in 2008, the same events that occurred after 2018—state collapse, war defeat, capitulation, the surrender of Artsakh, and the "denationalization" and "dehumanization" of Armenia and the Armenian people—would have happened then.

"If you think this was to be done through Ter-Petrosyan in 2008, you're mistaken. The March 1 organizers and beneficiaries had already brought Nikol to the forefront on March 1 and intended to install him in power to do what he did after 2018. Undoubtedly, Armenia's three former presidents are aware of this but remain silent," Hakobyan added.

He concluded that history will eventually shed light on the activities of special services operating under the roofs of various embassies in Armenia during the days preceding and following March 1. "One day it will be revealed which countries' 'diplomats' orchestrated March 1, evacuated 'shooters' from the scene, and turned Nikol, the 'messenger' for street killings, into a leader."

He also questioned why all agreed on March 1 that protesters would head towards the Matenadaran or the station, yet Pashinyan barricaded them in front of the Myasnikyan statue. "One day it will be revealed why what failed in 2008 succeeded in 2018," he concluded.

Following the 2008 presidential elections, when Serzh Sargsyan was declared the winner, supporters of opposition candidate and former President Levon Ter-Petrosyan held continuous protests and sit-ins in Freedom Square. On the evening of March 1, special operations were conducted in central Yerevan to disperse protesters using firearms, explosives, and special means, resulting in the deaths of 8 civilians and 2 police officers.
