Armenia joins EU peace instrument's 2026 draft program

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia has been included in the preliminary 2026 draft program as a recipient of the European Union’s Peace Facility, with discussions on the matter still ongoing.

Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan announced this at a joint session of the National Assembly's standing committees, presenting the 2024 state budget execution report.

“In 2024, Armenia managed to benefit from the EU's European Peace Facility, receiving €10 million in support. Discussions concerning the 2025 allocation are currently underway. It is important to note that Armenia is also included in the draft plans for 2026 as a beneficiary country,” Kostanyan stated, according to Armenpress.

Earlier, Armenia had received €10 million from the European Peace Facility to set up a field modular camp, which includes a medical aid station, along with related services and capabilities. Armenia has also submitted a second application to receive support from the Peace Facility in 2025.

According to some reports, Hungary has opposed this, as it did in 2024, demanding that an equal amount of aid be provided to Azerbaijan.
