Pashinyan, Matviyenko hold extended talks in Yerevan

PanARMENIAN.Net - Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with Valentina Matviyenko, Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, during her official visit to Yerevan. The meeting, which lasted significantly longer than scheduled, began with a one-on-one discussion and continued in an expanded format.

According to the Armenian Prime Minister's Office, Pashinyan welcomed the delegation and addressed the current state of Armenia–Russia relations . Matviyenko expressed gratitude for the warm reception, reaffirming Russia's readiness to continue cooperation with Armenia based on mutual respect and friendship.

The parties exchanged views on various topics on the Armenia–Russia agenda, including interparliamentary contacts, economic cooperation, and cultural ties.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced during a meeting with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan in Yerevan that the leaders of the two countries had agreed in the fall of 2024 to fully restore contacts.
