Bridge of Love event to honor Mkrtchyan, Chiaureli![]() June 11, 2025 - 16:34 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A commemorative event titled Bridge of Love will take place at 19:30 on July 4 at the Gabriel Sundukyan National Academic Theatre in Yerevan, dedicated to Mher Mkrtchyan and Sofiko Chiaureli. The event is organized with support from Armenia’s Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport and Georgia’s Ministry of Culture. The evening will feature a journey rich with emotions, presented through rare video footage, notable artistic moments, and musical performances, celebrating the deep cultural ties and shared theatrical and cinematic heritage of Armenia and Georgia. Among the performers are renowned composer and People’s Artist of the Armenian SSR Tigran Mansuryan; People’s Artist of Georgia and Russia Tamara Gverdtsiteli; the acclaimed Georgian ensemble Theatrical Quartet; David Mazanashvili’s musical group; and actors from both the Gabriel Sundukyan National Academic Theatre and the Petros Adamyan Armenian State Drama Theatre of Tbilisi. The event will be hosted by Araksya Melikyan from Armenia and Nikoloz Tsulukidze from Georgia. The event, part of Armenian-Georgian cultural cooperation, commemorates the 95th birth anniversary of Mher Mkrtchyan. Ara Aivazian said Azerbaijan continues the traditions of Turkey after seizing territories and forced Armenians out. The creative crew of the Public TV had chosen 13-year-old Malena as a participant of this year's contest. She called on others to also suspend their accounts over the companies’ failure to tackle hate speech. Penderecki was known for his film scores, including for William Friedkin’s “The Exorcist”, Stanley Kubrick’s “The Shining”. Partner news |
