Former parliament speaker Hovik Abrahamyan arrested

PanARMENIAN.Net - Former Armenian Prime Minister and National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan was arrested on June 13, 2025, and is now charged with money laundering, abuse of official powers, and illegal participation in business activities.

The Anti‑Corruption Committee has confirmed that Abrahamyan faces several counts, including money laundering, misuse of his official authority, and unlawfully engaging in entrepreneurial activities—serious allegations that have placed him at the center of an active criminal investigation.
