Armenian passengers among flights diverted to Baku![]() June 13, 2025 - 14:56 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Following the recent attack on Iran and widespread flight cancellations, over ten international flights were forced to land in Baku, Azerbaijan. According to Sputnik Armenia, among the passengers on these diverted flights are Armenian nationals. President of the Union of Armenians of Russia, Ara Abrahamyan, has appealed to the foreign ministers of both Armenia and Russia, urging them to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of Armenian passengers who found themselves in Baku due to the emergency landings. “Ara Abrahamyan requested that everything possible be done to ensure the safety of Armenians who ended up in Baku as a result of forced landings,” the statement read. Due to restrictions over Iranian, Iraqi, and Israeli airspace, more than ten flights were rerouted to Baku on the morning of June 13. These included flights from Moscow, Minsk, Kazan, and other locations, mainly en route to Dubai. Earlier that night, Israeli Air Force jets struck at least six military bases near Tehran. Iranian state media reported strikes not only near the capital but also in residential areas of multiple cities. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ central headquarters in Tehran was also reportedly damaged.
