Deputy minister says border situation stable, no threats

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia’s Deputy Defense Minister Arman Sargsyan stated that the current situation along the border is relatively stable and that there are no alarming signals at the moment.

When asked by journalists whether the Ministry of Defense had assessed the possibility of an attack in the Syunik region in connection with ongoing developments in Iran, Sargsyan confirmed that it had, reports Panorama.am .

“Of course, every escalation in the region should concern all of us. The ministry is monitoring developments,” he said.

Asked about the measures Armenia would take to defend itself, the deputy minister replied that the country would respond with its full capabilities.

“Armenia will defend itself to the extent of its capabilities, resources, and full potential, if needed. However, Armenia must do everything politically to avoid escalations in the region,” he added.

According to reports, Israel's Air Force has attacked at least six military bases near Tehran. Iranian state media reported that Israel struck residential neighborhoods in both Tehran and other cities. Specifically, the headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Tehran was reportedly targeted. Iran's armed forces general staff declared that the Israeli regime's strikes on their territory will be met with a devastating response.
