Israeli airstrikes kill 78 in Iran missile attacks

Israeli Air Force jets have carried out a new wave of airstrikes across Iran, targeting multiple missile launch sites, missile stockpiles, and ammunition depots.

According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), “In recent hours, Israeli Air Force jets have struck Iran's surface-to-surface missile infrastructure. Dozens of launchers, missile depots, and other military assets have been destroyed,” reported TASS.

One of the targets in western Iran reportedly included a concealed missile launcher disguised within a civilian container.

The Iranian Fars agency reports that Israeli strikes on residential areas in Tehran have left at least 78 people dead and 329 wounded.

"The unofficial death toll from today's Israeli terrorist attack on Tehran has reached 78, with another 329 injured," reads a statement quoted by RIA Novosti.

The attacks began during the night of June 13, when the IDF launched a large-scale operation aimed at Iranian military and nuclear-related targets. Israeli officials said the campaign was initiated to neutralize what they described as an existential threat, asserting that Iran had reached a “point of no return” in developing nuclear weapons, according to intelligence assessments.

Multiple waves of Israeli strikes reportedly hit various regions across Iran, including the capital, Tehran. Iranian media state that several senior military officials and nuclear scientists were among the dead. Key military installations in northwestern Iran and the Natanz nuclear facility were also targeted.

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, condemned the strikes in a national address, calling them a “crime,” and warned that “Israel now faces a bitter and terrifying fate.”
