Travelers crossing from Iran have been staying overnight in these communities. Owners and staff report that most rooms are reserved in advance for third-country nationals coming from Iran, according to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. Earlier today, Armenian servicemen working at the Armenian‑Iranian border said that movement has intensified multiple times since military operations began between Iran and Israel. On the night of June 13, Israel launched military strikes against Iran, accusing it of pursuing a covert military nuclear programme that had reached an “irreversible point.” Targets included nuclear facilities, senior generals, prominent nuclear physicists, airbases, air defence systems and surface‑to‑surface missiles. Iran denied any military component in its programme and responded with missile strikes and attack drones—saying the strikes are aimed at Israeli military and defence‑industrial sites. Israel and Iran continue to exchange strikes several times daily.
