Pashinyan to invite Erdogan to 2026 EPC summit

PanARMENIAN.Net - During a meeting with representatives of the Armenian community in Istanbul, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated his intention to invite Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Yerevan for the European Political Community (EPC) summit scheduled for May 2026, as reported by Istanbul-based newspaper "Agos."

Speaking about his visit to Turkey and the upcoming talks with Erdogan, Pashinyan emphasized that “it is important to hold such a meeting amid ongoing international developments” and added that “this framework offers an opportunity to advance new relations,” according to Azatutyun.

“Pashinyan said that when the normalization process with Turkey began, the key question was whether it would succeed. He noted that problems must be correctly identified. We have taken steps along the way, and the most important approach to resolving issues is listening to the other side and believing in success,” the publication states.

On June 20 in Istanbul, during the meeting between Pashinyan and Erdogan, the two leaders discussed the Armenia–Turkey normalization process, emphasized the importance of continuing constructive dialogue, and the need to achieve tangible outcomes. They also addressed regional developments and potential avenues for bilateral cooperation in that context.

Prime Minister Pashinyan reaffirmed Armenia’s commitment to ensuring peace and stability in the region and emphasized his government's ongoing policy of normalizing relations with neighboring countries.
