Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan detained by law enforcement![]() June 25, 2025 - 14:27 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Law enforcement officers detained Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, leader of the “Sacred Movement,” after conducting a search at his residence early on June 25, reports Aysor.am . Upon his detention, the bishop declared: “Neither arrest nor anything else can take us off our path. Evil, whatever you do, your time is short. Hold on, we’ll come.” Before detaining the archbishop, authorities removed a loudspeaker, bags, and boxes from his residence. On June 24, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan shared a post on his Facebook page from a pro-government site, claiming the opposition was organizing a coup. These “exclusive documents” also mentioned Galstanyan by name. The following morning, law enforcement began searching the homes of “Sacred Struggle” movement supporters. The Investigative Committee stated that members and leaders of the movement had “planned to carry out terrorist acts and actions aimed at seizing power in the Republic of Armenia.” ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
