Searches target ARF members' homes

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia’s Supreme Body of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) reported that law enforcement conducted searches in the homes of several party members on the morning of June 25.

According to the statement, “At the moment, unlawful searches are being carried out in the homes of Igor Sargsyan, a member of ARF Armenia’s Supreme Body; Vardan Avagyan from the Abovyan Committee; Artashes Hunanyan from the Hrazdan Committee; and Varazdat Amiraghyan from the Noyemberyan Committee.”

ARF indicated that updates on the progress and outcomes of these searches would be provided later.

Following the search of Igor Sargsyan’s residence, he was transferred to the Investigative Committee, as reported by “Azatutyun.”

Sevak Khachatryan, a member of the Ejmiatsin city council, also claimed that law enforcement was targeting homes of opposition council members and transferring them to investigative departments.

On June 25, law enforcement began conducting raids on addresses linked to supporters of the "Sacred Struggle" movement. The Investigative Committee stated that members and leaders of the movement had planned to carry out terrorist acts and seize power in Armenia.

On June 24, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan shared a Civic.am article titled “The Opposition’s Coup Plan” on his Facebook page, commenting: “This process will go down in history as the ‘failed coup of the traitors.’”
