Businessman Tigran Galstyan arrested amid crackdown

PanARMENIAN.Net - Businessman Tigran Galstyan has been arrested, as reported by human rights advocate Ruben Melikyan on Facebook. “Within the scope of political repression, businessman Tigran Galstyan has also been detained. Searches were carried out. Soon, procedural actions will continue at the Investigative Department located at Mazmanyan 5,” he wrote.

On the morning of June 25, law enforcement authorities began searches at addresses linked to supporters of the “Holy Struggle” movement. The Investigative Committee announced that participants and leaders of the movement had “planned to carry out terrorist acts and seize power in the Republic of Armenia.”

On June 24, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan shared an article from civic.am titled “The opposition's coup plan” on his Facebook page, commenting, “This process will go down in history as the ‘failed coup of traitors.’”
