US committed to peace in South Caucasus, says congressman![]() June 25, 2025 - 19:27 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - From June 24 to 27, members of the Armenia–U.S. Parliamentary Friendship Group are on an official visit to Washington. According to Armenia’s National Assembly, the delegation met with House Foreign Affairs Committee Chair Brian Mast. The meeting was attended by delegation head and Foreign Relations Committee Chair Sargis Khnаdanyan, MPs Arusyak Julhakyan, Maria Karapetyan, and Gegham Nazaryan, along with Armenian Ambassador to the U.S. Lilit Makunts. Khаndanyan emphasized the importance of Armenia–U.S. strategic relations, highlighting the January strategic partnership declaration and the need to deepen bilateral ties. The sides discussed regional security, peace talks with Azerbaijan, and the Armenian government’s “Crossroads of Peace” initiative. Congressman Mast reaffirmed the U.S.'s commitment to supporting sustainable peace in the South Caucasus and pledged continued support for Armenia. At the end of the meeting, Khаndanyan handed Mast an official invitation from National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan to visit Armenia. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
