RPA demands action against prime minister![]() June 26, 2025 - 11:39 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) has issued a statement expressing support for individuals it describes as being persecuted for political reasons. The party called for the process of declaring no confidence in the prime minister to be brought to completion. “The propaganda lies of Armenia’s current rulers are reaching new heights. The Republican Party of Armenia expresses its support for our compatriots who are being politically persecuted and condemns the use of law enforcement to silence political opponents,” the statement reads. RPA warned that the anti-state actions of the current government have placed the country in a critical situation. “The process of declaring no confidence in the prime minister must be finalized under pressure from national forces and the wave of public protest,” the statement concludes. On the morning of June 25, law enforcement began searches at the homes of “Holy Struggle” supporters. The Investigative Committee claimed that participants and leaders of the movement had planned terrorist acts and a power grab in Armenia. Later that day, the movement’s leader, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, was detained for two months. The Committee filed motions to arrest 16 individuals; nine were approved by the court. A decision on one case is expected on June 26, with the rest also scheduled for hearings that day. On June 24, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan shared an article titled “The Opposition’s Coup Plan” from civic.am on Facebook, commenting: “This process will go down in history as the ‘traitors’ failed coup.’” ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
