He added that, having known Galstanyan for many years, “he has never spoken using such vulgar language.” Danielyan emphasized that everyone who interacted with Galstanyan confirms he never uses that kind of speech. The rumors—claiming Galstanyan has two children, obtained an army exemption for one, received Kremlin funding, or is an agent for some countries—are all false and defamatory. The Security Service of Armenia (SSA) has officially denied all such allegations, according to Danielyan. The movement leader, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, has been arrested for two months. The Investigative Committee requested pre-trial detention for 16 individuals; the court approved detention for nine, and decisions for others are due on June 26. On the morning of June 25, law enforcement conducted searches at homes of “Holy Struggle” supporters. The Investigative Committee alleges participants had planned terrorist acts and aimed to seize power in Armenia.
