Armenia responds to Carnegie report on U.S. proposals

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia’s Foreign Ministry has responded to a report by the Carnegie Endowment, which stated that the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump had made proposals to both Armenia and Azerbaijan regarding the unblocking of infrastructure in the South Caucasus.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan noted that “various partners regularly present proposals to Armenia and Azerbaijan.”

“Unblocking transport infrastructure in the South Caucasus has been and remains a key priority for Armenia. As is well known, Armenia has proposed its own vision for regional connectivity—Crossroads of Peace—which has already received positive feedback from a number of international partners. Moreover, Armenia has submitted several solutions aligned with this initiative that could be acceptable to all involved parties.

At the same time, various international partners continue to present their ideas for normalizing Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, including suggestions on the unblocking of transport infrastructure between the two countries. Discussions with all interested partners are ongoing, aimed at achieving mutually beneficial outcomes and unlocking the region’s transit potential,” the statement reads.
