Simonyan claims no one is above the law, regardless of rank

PanARMENIAN.Net - On the occasion of Constitution Day, National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan stated that “no individual should consider themselves above the law, regardless of status or position.”

“Today, we celebrate Constitution Day of the Republic of Armenia—a day that symbolizes the level of our independent statehood, legal thinking, and civic maturity.

The Constitution is not merely a legal document. It is an expression of our identity, dignity, and freedom. It is our collective oath to live by the law and be guided by justice.

As Speaker of the National Assembly, I firmly believe that Armenia can become a strong state only if the law is recognized as an inviolable value. No one should place themselves above the law, regardless of their status or social standing.

Dear compatriots, on this important day, I reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that everyone in the Republic of Armenia is equal before the law,” the statement reads.

Armenia celebrates Constitution Day on July 5.
