Danielyan, Mkrtchyan to play in FIDE Women’s World Cup

PanARMENIAN.Net - Grandmaster Elina Danielyan and International Master Lilit Mkrtchyan will represent Armenia at the 2025 FIDE Women’s World Cup, set to take place in Batumi, Georgia, from July 6 to 28.

In the first round, Danielyan will face Nadezhda Antonova of Tajikistan, a Woman FIDE Master with a rating of 2030, the Armenian Chess Federation reported.

Mkrtchyan’s opening match will be against Lina Nassri of Algeria, an International Master with a rating of 2054.

The tournament follows a knockout format with seven rounds. Each round consists of two classical games. If the score is tied 1–1, the winner will be decided in rapid and blitz tie-breaks.

The first round’s opening games will begin on July 6 at 15:00.
