Catholicos calls on Diaspora youth to study language, history

PanARMENIAN.Net - On July 8, Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II met with Diaspora Armenian youth participating in Armenian studies and theology courses and urged them to deepen their knowledge of the Armenian language and history.

The Catholicos offered his blessing to the young people who had arrived from various countries and emphasized the importance of their gathering at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and their involvement in the educational program.

“His Holiness encouraged the youth to actively engage in the courses to enrich their understanding of the Armenian language, history, and spiritual heritage, while also connecting with the cultural and religious values of their homeland.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Catholicos of All Armenians invoked the protection of the Holy Right Hand of God for the youth, urging them to maintain a strong connection with the Church and the Homeland to preserve their identity,” the message reads.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan recently wrote on his Facebook page that “The house of Christ has been seized by an immoral, anti-national group and must be liberated,” adding that he will “lead that liberation.”

The World Council of Churches has issued a call for solidarity, expressing support for the Armenian Apostolic Church.
