Aliyev, Pashinyan reportedly focus on resolving peace deal disputes

PanARMENIAN.Net - The main topic of discussion during the recent meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Abu Dhabi was eliminating disagreements over a peace agreement, according to a source cited by TASS. The sides aim to sign the agreement by the end of the year.

The talks reportedly lasted about two hours in the presence of delegations, followed by a one-on-one discussion between the two leaders.

Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson for the President of the Russian Federation, stated that Moscow sees the signing of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan as a key factor for reinforcing stability in the region. He emphasized that Russia fully supports the ongoing negotiation process, as reported by RIA Novosti.

“We’ve repeatedly stated at various levels that we will support the signing of a peace treaty as soon as possible. Such a treaty would be an extremely important factor in enhancing predictability, stability, and peace in the region. We fully support this process,” Peskov told reporters.

Negotiations between President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia took place in Abu Dhabi and lasted nearly five hours.
