EU ready to support Yerevan-Baku agreements![]() August 14, 2025 - 18:45 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The European Union has expressed its readiness to assist in implementing the agreements reached between Azerbaijan and Armenia, according to European Council President António Costa, who conveyed this during a phone call with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Report.az reports. Costa highlighted the significance of the agreements reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan during the trilateral summit in Washington, viewing them as vital for ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region. On August 12, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also held a phone conversation with António Costa, in which he presented the results of the August 8 Washington talks. These included the pre-signing of the “Agreement on the establishment of peace and interstate relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” a joint request to the OSCE on the dissolution of the Minsk Group mechanisms, the unblocking of regional communications based on territorial integrity, sovereignty, jurisdiction, and reciprocity, as well as the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity initiative. The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington. The CSTO budget for the current year requires adjustments due to the refusal of Yerevan to pay their share of contributions. Six total incidents have burned 19 old-growth trees.
