The 28-year-old will replace Liparit Drmeyan, who was dismissed on August 29. Sujyan previously served as Deputy Minister of Justice from 2022 and, since October 2024, as an aide to Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan. Drmeyan’s dismissal followed Prime Minister Pashinyan’s statement that “the government is me — no one can hold a position contradicting mine. If there are people in government with opposing positions, they should resign immediately, or I will dismiss them.” The office had earlier confirmed Armenia’s obligation to comply with Stockholm arbitration rulings related to Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA). Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. Partner news |
