Academic city development framework unveiled in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Academic City Foundation hosted a meeting where the German firm RSUP (Rabe Strategic Urban Planning) presented the strategic development framework and roadmap for the project.

RSUP CEO Johan Rabe explained that the process began in October 2024, based on GMP’s master plan concept. The company consulted with over 50 public and private institutions, academic and tech organizations, and conducted surveys involving more than 3,000 community members, collecting around 2,300 data sets.

The resulting roadmap outlines seven key areas: governance, economy, operations, legal, technical, environment, and security. Proposals were formulated to mitigate risks, ranging from management issues to residents’ daily needs.

Rabe emphasized that Academic City is not just a construction project but a nation-wide system-building initiative aimed at shaping a new educational model. He noted its facilities will benefit not only students and faculty but also private tech firms, innovators, and the broader public.
