Jermuk elects Manan Gevorgyan as new community head![]() October 23, 2025 - 12:43 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The municipal council of Jermuk has elected Manan Gevorgyan as the town’s new mayor, according to an announcement from the municipality. “Following the special election for the head of Jermuk community in Armenia’s Vayots Dzor Province, Manan Aghvani Gevorgyan has been elected mayor,” the statement reads. A swearing-in ceremony will be organized in accordance with procedures defined by law. The previous mayor of Jermuk, Vahagn Arsenyan, son of former MP Ashot Arsenyan from the Republican Party of Armenia, was appointed governor of Vayots Dzor on October 9. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
