Pope Leon XIV to pray in Armenian church in Istanbul

PanARMENIAN.Net - On November 30, the feast day of Saint Andrew the Apostle, Pope Leon XIV will visit an Armenian church in Istanbul under the jurisdiction of the Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople during his apostolic trip to Turkey, according to Vatican press service.

The prayer service at the Armenian church has been included in the pontiff’s itinerary as a symbolic gesture of Christian solidarity and ecumenical dialogue.

The visit will also commemorate the 1700th anniversary of the First Council of Nicaea—one of the most significant dates in the history of the universal Christian Church.
