Justice Minister: no decision on amnesty at this time

PanARMENIAN.Net - During a budget discussion at the Armenian parliament's Standing Committees on State-Legal and Financial-Budgetary Affairs, Justice Minister Srbuhi Galyan stated that no decision has been made regarding a general amnesty.

She made the remarks in response to a question from MP Garnik Danielyan of the Hayastan faction, Panorama.am reports.

“There is no decision to implement an amnesty,” said Galyan.

She emphasized that individuals serving sentences should be assessed individually, based on their progress in resocialization. According to Galyan, it is inappropriate to decide arbitrarily to release certain groups, without first evaluating whether they are truly prepared to reintegrate into society.
