Pashinyan talks military reform with defense leadership![]() November 10, 2025 - 17:53 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a meeting with the senior leadership of the Armed Forces at the Ministry of Defense, as part of an operational gathering. During the session, Pashinyan emphasized the importance of continuous modernization of the military and the consistent implementation of relevant reforms. The discussion addressed the strategic vision for the development of Armenia’s Armed Forces, assessments of the new security environment, effective governance, human resource development, and other related issues. The Prime Minister also answered questions posed by the Armed Forces’ leadership. Previously, Pashinyan had addressed remuneration for contract soldiers during a Cabinet session. According to him, 1,559 enlisted contract soldiers earn between 300,000 and 400,000 drams per month; 1,156 receive 400,000 to 500,000 drams; 523 earn between 500,000 and 600,000 drams; 244 are paid 600,000 to 700,000 drams; and 31 soldiers receive salaries exceeding 700,000 drams. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
