Newly ordained priest to serve Gyumri mass on Dec 9

PanARMENIAN.Net - On December 9, the Armenian Apostolic Church will celebrate the Conception of the Holy Mother of God with a Divine Liturgy at the Yot Verk (Seven Wounds) Cathedral in Gyumri.

“Beloved faithful, we are pleased to announce that with the blessings of Archbishop Mikael Ajapahyan, Primate of the Shirak Diocese, and Bishop Narek Avagyan, Spiritual Overseer of the Diocese, a Divine and Immortal Liturgy will be celebrated on December 9 at 10:30 a.m. at Gyumri’s Holy Mother of God Cathedral (Yot Verk) by the newly ordained priest, Fr. Garnik Avoyan. We kindly request your prayerful presence,” reads the announcement by the Shirak Diocese.

It was previously announced that Fr. Garnik Avoyan would serve the liturgy on December 7 at the same church. Still, the service was rescheduled after Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited Gyumri that day. Clergy from the Shirak Diocese declined to participate in a liturgy where the Catholicos’ name was to be omitted.
