Armenia to boost exports to Germany in coming years

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Ambassador Viktor Yengibaryan and Antonin Finkelnburg, CEO of Germany’s Federal Association for Wholesale, Foreign Trade and Services, have discussed ways to deepen trade and economic cooperation between Armenia and Germany.

Ambassador Yengibaryan expressed satisfaction over Armenia’s recent designation as a partner country of the Import Promotion Desk (IPD). The two sides reviewed steps planned under the initiative. As a result of the IPD program, Armenia is expected to increase its export volumes to Germany in the coming years, especially in the agriculture and textile sectors.

The meeting also addressed current geopolitical developments, with both sides exchanging views on regional dynamics in the South Caucasus, including efforts to normalize relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and Armenia and Turkey.

Armenia joined Germany’s Import Promotion Desk (IPD) initiative in November 2025. The program provides technical assistance, market access support, and targeted export capacity development tools.
