No criminal case filed against Catholicos: prosecutor’s office

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia’s Prosecutor General’s Office has stated that no criminal proceedings are currently underway against the Catholicos of All Armenians.

“There is no information at this time in the Prosecutor General’s Office regarding any criminal case involving the mentioned individual,” the office said in an official written response, according to Aysor.am .

The media outlet also inquired about the legal case under which Shoghakat TV director Manya Ghazaryan was questioned, but the Prosecutor’s Office declined to provide details, citing the interests of the ongoing investigation.

Earlier, Hraparak daily had reported that the authorities were preparing to initiate a criminal case against the Catholicos under money laundering charges, and that Manya Ghazaryan had been questioned in connection with that case.
