U.S. support must become actionable, Babajanyan says

PanARMENIAN.Net - Chairman of the "For the Republic" party, Arman Babajanyan, announced on Facebook that U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance will visit Armenia on February 9.

He stated that American political support must swiftly be translated into a practical, measurable, and accountable assistance package.

“This visit should be marked by signed agreements with clear timelines and actionable commitments,” Babajanyan wrote.

He outlined Armenia’s national interests as follows: real enhancement of defense capabilities (modern systems, technology, training, and joint initiatives), energy independence (new capacities, grid upgrades, investment tools), technology and capital (R&D, startup ecosystems, manufacturing investment), and regional connectivity, under the unwavering principle of Armenia’s sovereignty.

“We must approach this visit with a clear agenda: what outcomes we demand, on what timeline, with what tools, and who is responsible for delivery.

If the U.S. speaks of security and partnership in the region, then Armenia must be given a real opportunity to acquire new defense capabilities. Our goal should be clear: turn a promise into an agreement, the agreement into a practical tool, and the tool into a more resilient Armenia with a functioning economy and measurable, tangible development,” he concluded.

U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance is also expected to visit Azerbaijan as part of his regional tour.
