Kallas says EU support to boost Armenia’s resilience

PanARMENIAN.Net - High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas welcomed the EU Council’s decision to provide €20 million in support to Armenia through the European Peace Facility (EPF).

“This assistance measure under the European Peace Facility is another step toward closer security and defense cooperation between the EU and Armenia. Through this initiative, the EU reaffirms its commitment to enhancing Armenia’s resilience, which contributes to regional stability, peace, and security,” she said, as reported by Armenpress.

According to the EU Council, the assistance will help strengthen Armenia’s resilience and enhance the interoperability of its armed forces, facilitating future participation in international military missions and EU-led operations.

The EU also reaffirmed its commitment to deepening comprehensive political and economic ties with Armenia, based on the principles outlined in the new EU–Armenia Strategic Agenda.

The EU Council approved a €20 million allocation under the EPF to improve the logistical capabilities of Armenia’s armed forces, particularly in crisis and emergency situations related to civilian protection.
