Court accepts case to seize MP’s alleged illegal property

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Anti-Corruption Court of Armenia has accepted for review a lawsuit filed by the General Prosecutor’s Office seeking the confiscation of property allegedly acquired through illegal means.

The Department for Confiscation of Illegally Acquired Property within the Prosecutor’s Office has submitted a claim against National Assembly MP Ishkhan Saghatelian and individuals connected to him, requesting that the following be confiscated in favor of the Republic of Armenia:

  • 5 real estate properties
  • 5 vehicles
  • shares in 3 legal entities
  • 264,516,000 AMD identified as illegal financial assets
  • an additional 2,914,000 AMD allegedly lacking legal justification and deemed illegally acquired, either transferred to good-faith recipients or untraceable.
