Yerevan, Baku review trust measures at UN session![]() February 24, 2026 - 18:52 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On February 24, in Geneva, on the sidelines of the 61st session of the UN Human Rights Council, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan met with Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov. The sides discussed possible measures aimed at strengthening confidence within multilateral platforms and international organizations, the Armenian Foreign Ministry said. The meeting took place as a continuation of contacts held at a high political level. On August 8, during a trilateral meeting at the White House between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, U.S. President Donald Trump and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, a joint declaration was signed on the outcomes of the talks held in Washington. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, in the presence of the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and the United States, initialed the agreement “On Peace and Establishment of Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.” Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
